In September 2004 Valiery Lievanieuski (Valery Levaneuski), chair of the Nationwide Strike Committee of Businessmen, and his deputy Aliaksandr Vasilieu were found guilty ofinsult to Aliaksandr Lukashenka (violation of Article #367 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two years of colony. After the hunger-strike the Hrodna businessman Valiery Lievanieuski (Valery Levaneuski) went to the prison hospital in the Ivatsevichy penal facility. Lievanieuski was on hunger-strike for a week since 1 June, protesting the imprisonment conditions. On March, 17th, 2005 in a corrective colony №22 the meeting of the chairman of National Strike Committee of entrepreneurs of Belarus, a member of Council of civil initiatives of Belarus, a member of Council of civil initiatives «Free Belarus» Valery Levaneuski and his lawyer has taken place. The basic question which was discussed at a meeting, was about the appeal when due hereunder those collectings which have been imposed on Valery Levaneuski in colony-22 and colony-19.
